Plugins for Manta
Plugins extend Manta – in any programming language. A plugin is a small program that talks to Manta with JSON lines over stdin/stdout. The built-in plugins ship with the app; community plugins you install yourself.

How to submit a pluginInstall a plugin
- Download the
.mantapluginor.zipfile – or clone the plugin folder. - In Manta, open Settings › Plugins and click “Install Plugin…”. Choose the folder or the
.zip/.mantapluginfile. - Check the name, author and permissions in the confirmation.
- Switch the plugin on.
External plugins run in a macOS sandbox: they can only do what their permissions allow, such as reading your files or using the network. Only install plugins you trust.

Write your own plugin
A plugin is a folder with a plugin.toml and a program. The quickest start is a template:
- Templates in Python, Node.js, Rust and shell
- Developer guide: manifest, protocol, permissions
- Test without Manta:
python3 scripts/plugin-test.py path/to/plugin
Open a pull request that adds an entry to plugins/registry.json.
